The Broncos have gotten Jonah Elliss off to a good start. Pass rusher Jonah Elliss showed up to rookie minicamp last month after being selected by the Denver Broncos in the third round of the 2024 NFL draft out of Utah in April. He quickly made a good impression. “Good. When questioned about his initial impressions of Elliss on May 11, Broncos coach Sean Payton stated, “Really good.” The New Orleans Saints had a chance to draft his brother, Kaden Elliss, in 2019, as I told you after the draft. It’s a wonderful family. [Their] father was an incredible player. He was a prey point. In some of these drills, it’s hard for him to finish rushing the passer, but he has good football genes and is tough. We had the impression that we had to pass the Falcons. Terry Fontenot, formerly of the Saints, is currently in Atlanta, and his brother is currently in Atlanta. We were fortunate to be able to draft him after sitting there for however long. He’s done well in the first two days.” Last fall, Elliss had a breakout junior season, recording 12 sacks and 16 tackles from behind the line of scrimmage in 10 games. Any reasonable person would agree he’s glad to have arrived in Denver. “It’s been great,” Elliss said. The coaches are treating us well and know what they are doing. That’s very encouraging because they constantly try to prioritize us. Already, the atmosphere here is fantastic. Elliss will seek snaps with Aristocrat Sautéing, Jonathon Cooper, Nik Bonitto and Drew Sanders (when he’s sound). Contest to the side, Elliss likes the family-like culture the Horses have constructed. The rookie stated, “It’s definitely a tight, tight group.” “Sean Payton has done a really good job of maintaining that family atmosphere, and you can tell that the coaches get along very well. That’s exactly what I like. Elliss will report for compulsory minicamp one week from now. After a mid year break, Denver is supposed to start instructional course in late July, offering fans their most memorable chance to see Elliss hurrying the passer face to face.
